Lowering Friction in Blogging

I recently had an opportunity to setup a WordPress blog at work for librarians (in Finnish only). While doing that I realized that my previous setup of static site generator built in Python was adding friction to writing my blog.

I dicked around with Ghost after reading about Jeff Atwood using it. However it just didn’t have some of the features WordPress offers. So now I have this WordPress blog with a very basic theme.

In the traditional spirit of experimenting I installed Facebooks HHVM, a PHP virtual machine. So far it works fine and setup was pretty easy, aside from couple of hours of pain with conflicting ports.
